The Center is seeking an experienced, Development Director responsible for grant writing, fundraising efforts, including managing events and initiatives. The Director is responsible for promoting and expanding Center‘s presence in the community through the use of traditional print, live, web-based and social media channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Foundations and Grants:
● Identify and recruit potential private and public foundations and governmental funding sources to support and expand the organization’s programs.
● Develop and submit grant applications and contracts with support of the other members of the management team.
● Develop foundation/corporation/governmental organization stewardship process to engage and strengthen relationships with

Donor Cultivation and Relations:
● Develop and implement an organizational plan to identify, recruit, cultivate, expand and maintain the portfolio of individual donors.
● Create and consider strategies to increase donations from individuals and corporations – both current donors and prospective
● Develop and implement appeals throughout the year.
● Develop and maintain on-going donor stewardship and acknowledgement systems with current and potential donors that include acknowledgement).

Events:
● Design and direct the strategy, development and implementation of fundraising programs and events.
● Ensure that fundraising financial goals are met and meet the needs of the organization.
● Manage and facilitate donor cultivation events.
● Work with other members of the management team to coordinate fundraising events.
● Coordinate and plan events that increase exposure of the Center and its mission within the community.

Data Management:
● Utilize Donor Perfect database system.
● Maintain the fundraising calendar, files and records to manage the information flow amongst the management team.

Consultants:
● Work and supervise consultants for special fundraising projects..

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

● 3-5 years fundraising and/or grant writing experience.
● Bachelor’s degree required.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Strong computer software experience including, but no limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Ability to act independently and to make decisions as required.
